Testing duration:I tested Avocado Butter Pre-Shampoo Hair Treatment for 4 weeks using it once a week. I tested it two times with my normal hair care products and two times with the Burt's Bees products.
Product claims:
Perming, coloring and styling can leave your hair looking dry and damaged. This luscious formula combines Avocado and Olive oils to penetrate and replenish natural moisture to your hair and scalp. Rosemary, almond oil and nettle extract condition your hair leaving it soft, with a glossy shine.
How I used it:
Used on damp hair and left on for 20 minutes to an hour. I left it on once for an hour because I got carried away cleaning the house. Rinse out and follow with my usual hair routine of shampoo and conditioner.
My hair type:
Oily scalp, normal ends, no color other than body art quality henna done 6 months ago. My hair is not dry or damaged by heat or chemicals.
Results I am looking for:
To add even more shine to my hair and keep my hair soft. Overall keep my hair looking and feeling healthy.
Review:
The color is of course a green and the smell is a like sweetened avocado with almond. It is a very light smell. The texture is thick but it is easy to get out of the tube. After the first application I didn't even need my usual leave-in conditioner to keep my hair going a little puffy due to my extremely light natural wave. Ok it is more like one wave that just makes my hair curl up on the ends. By week 3 I could see a difference in the shine and my hair seemed more manageable. After week 4 I have fallen in love and this product will be part of my regular hair routine. Since I do not have damaged hair I can not report on any improvement in that area but I did lend this to someone who does have damaged hair. I had to buy a new tube because she refused to give it back. After 2 weeks there was a noticeable shine and she said her hair was not breaking anymore.
Burt's Bees has won me over! I had been using Lush hair products for around 2 years now but with the price change I went looking for something else. I wanted a product I could easily get and not have it cost me fortune. Most importantly I wanted it to be as natural as possible. Burt's Bees caught my attention and I've been pleased with everything I have tried.
This product gets a thumbs up from me! If you cannot find it in stores you can get it at their website with low shipping cost and they usually run specials.

Is the treatment hard to wash out?
I read that this has a waxy feeling on another review. Did you feel the same way?
I tested this treatment a while ago and thought it was way too thick and even sticky feeling. Really hard to wash out for me and I have fine hair. Just my 2 cents!
Misslooselips: I personally did not have a problem washing the product out. It did take a little longer than to wash out than most conditioning treatments due to the butter.
anon: The product has a butter/wax feeling but I didn't have any problems once I washed the product out.
eye4style: I welcome all honest opinions. Your thoughts may be helpful to my readers. :)
I purchased this because of your review. 2 uses and I can see a difference.
Thanks!
